Hefei Penglai Road Pump Station Technical Renovation and Drainage Network Improvement Project
The Penglai Road Pumping Station Technical Upgrade and Local Drainage Network Improvement Project is divided into four sub-projects: First, the Penglai Road Pumping Station Technical Upgrade and Local Drainage Network Improvement Project—Inspection and Remediation of Drainage Networks in the Northwest Residential Area and Other Areas. Second, the Relocation and Modification of the Municipal Sewer Main (Tangkou Road–Fangxing Avenue) within the Penglai Road Plot. Third, the Upgrading Project for Stormwater Box Culverts Supporting the Jinzao Road Expressway Conversion, and fourth, the Sewer Network Project for Secondary Roads within the Former Tongyi Site.
Located in the core section of the largest residential area cluster within the Hefei Economic and Technological Development Zone, the project addressed severe deformation and fractures in the existing plastic sewer pipes, which had rendered them inoperable. Following extensive feasibility studies, the project ultimately employed the method of in-situ replacement using centrifugally cast fiberglass-reinforced plastic (GRP) pipes. Construction was completed across the entire route in September 2022, and the system has since been put into operation.
