Kalkallo Small Bay Sewer Main Pipeline Project, Melbourne, Australia
The Kalkallo Sub-area Main Sewer (KCMS) in Melbourne, Australia, is part of the Kalkallo sewerage service system under the Northern Corridor Development Strategy. The proposed sewer trunk line has a total length of over 13 kilometers and will be implemented in three phases: Phase 1 (approximately 3.4 kilometers), Phase 2 (4.3 kilometers), and Phase 3 (5.4 kilometers). It is designed to collect and convey wastewater from all new urban developments within the planned development area east of Old Sydney Road, on both sides of the Hume Highway, and north of Donnybrook Road. The trunk line connects to the Amaroo sewer main at MH23. For Phase 1 (3,453 meters), pipe jacking was employed, utilizing exclusively our company’s centrifugally cast fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) sand-filled pipes (OD1499/SN40000/4065kN). The Phase 1 jacking operation was divided into eight sections, with the longest single-section jacking distance reaching 580 meters. Construction commenced in January 2018 and was completed in December 2018.
